In Memoriam of Nancy Goode-Thomas: 201706

Nancy was an adored nurturer and teacher to some, especially those lucky few students she taught, a positive inspiration to many that believe love, music, and art enrich the soul, and a muse to all as good is the struggle for light in a world that often tries to run into darkness to hide from the truth buried in mankind’s soul. It was our great fortune to have someone our lives that was so bright and effervescent that loved so dearly. While she has gone to be with Christ, her love will always be with us. And, her goodness shall be a rallying cry for those who are the torch bearers in this world.

Thank-you!

For all those in the struggle for justice and freedom, hear these words:

"Power concedes nothing without a demand. The struggle for justice must never be adjourned. The forces of injustice do not take vacations. Societies are not static in this regard. They await the political and civic energies of individuals who engage the arenas of power, multiply their numbers and emblazon in deeds and institutions the immortal principle that "Here the People Rule." - Ralph Nader.

Ammunition flies above, life collapses upon the planet
Bullets ricochet in the heat, warps wisp around steel of a pistol
Fear in my brothers eyes as we shudder with sites on target
In shy town, in capitol, in Mosul, we are stuck in the middle

Rifts, ancient and invented, are exploited, and flames fanned
A powder keg of politics explodes persecution, dissonance
The battle cry for normalcy reaches a blistering pitch
As the clampdown grip squeezes life out of the innocent

Victory is won and oppression removed
Street by street, block by block as the shy are freed
Phantom liars slink off, returning to terror liars
Celebrate as peace arises, and communities accede

But the toil begins as the rubble is lifted
Lives ripped apart by terror are patched and mended
Order renewed but with an eye for inclusion
Avoid the hurt of the hurt, hearts tended
